I made the decision to run for the Deer Park School Board because I feel a deep sense of responsibility towards preserving our cherished small-town values as our community continues to grow. I aim to advocate for the best possible educational experience while ensuring a safe environment for every child who attends Deer Park schools. My highest priority will always be the students.

I am a third-generation resident of Deer Park, and I attended the Deer Park School District from K-12. During my time as a student in the Deer Park School District, I developed a profound love and admiration for our town and our schools. I participated in many activities that would prepare me for a life of volunteer service in our Deer Park community.

Following my primary education, I went on to pursue higher education at Spokane Falls Community College and Spokane Community College, and then embarked on a career in the dental field. After the birth of our first child, I decided to leave my career to dedicate myself to being a homemaker. My husband and I are proud parents of four wonderful children, each enrolled in DPSD, who will all be attending different schools within our district this year.

Throughout my life, I have always been drawn to service within the community, especially within the schools. I have held several volunteer leadership roles both in the schools and in the community over the past seven years. I believe that my many years of volunteering as PTO and PTCA President at Deer Park Elementary and Arcadia Elementary have given me valuable experience that will greatly benefit me in this position. My extensive engagement with teachers, administrators, students, and parents enables me to offer a unique and refreshing perspective to the Deer Park School Board. The primary motivation behind my decision to run for the school board stems from my active involvement with students and staff at the ground level. Witnessing the day-to-day challenges and obstacles that administrators and staff encounter has left me feeling compelled to do more to support our schools.

Building upon my past experiences within the DPSD, I am confident that I have the ability to serve Deer Park effectively if elected as a member of the school board.
